Money Laundering Regulations
All estate agents are now subject to Money Laundering Regulations and are required to obtain some additional personal details from clients who ask us to sell a property on their behalf. In order to verify such information that you give us our staff will do checks on your name and address, your passport, your driving licence or maybe a recent utility bill etc. and on your date of birth, nationality and country of residence.
The Property Misdescription Act 1991
This act is to give you added protection with regard to estate agents. It ensures that all that is said or written down - by the estate agent - to advertise / sell a property is accurate information and is not spoken of or written down in a misleading way. Providence Properties fully support this Act which is enforced by the Trading Standards Authority.
We strongly recommend that all the information we give you about a property is verified by yourself or your advisers. If you wish us to sell your property and advertise it on our website then please be aware that we will need to see proof of any details you provide ie. proof of any intended planning permission documents; and verification of restoration work, improvements and / or alterations carried out on said property.
